Marzia Hassan (LLB, MSW, RSW) is an author, public speaker and marriage and family therapist working with individuals, couples and families. After obtaining her master’s in social work, she started Family Connections International, a psychotherapy practice based in Toronto and online.
In addition to pursuing her passion for coaching families and individuals on building better relationships, Marzia chairs the board of Jaffari Support Services, a faith based social services agency that she helped found in 2008, and serves on the board of directors of various NGOs, including International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF) and Habib University Foundation.
Marzia is the author of “Parenting in the Age of Facebook: Raising the Net Generation”, and she facilitates parenting and family skills workshops all over the world, giving parents the tools to parent effectively in the 21 st century. She has various free resources for individuals and families via her website and social media accounts. She has also developed video based online courses for couples and families to strengthen their relationships.
In 2013, Marzia was honoured with the Canadian House of Commons award for Outstanding Volunteer Achievement in recognition of her contributions to various minority communities in Toronto, in the fields of family strengthening and women’s empowerment.
